Trash pick - up
Trash night in our Jersey City community is collected every Tuesday and Friday night. Homeowners are asked to place there collected trash on the curbside between 7:p.m. and10:p.m. for pick up on those nights.
Bulk waste—furniture, appliances, etc -- is also collected during these pickups. Please call the Department of Public Works at 201-547-4400 to schedule and inform them of a bulk waste pick up especially if it has not been picked up by the Department of Public Works.
Recyclables in our Jersey City community is collected every Thursday night. Homeowners are asked to place their recyclables on the curbside between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM for pick up on Thursday nights.
The Jersey City Department of Public Works (JCDPW) also provides for a drop-off center, where residents can dispose of tires and other debris as deemed necessary by JCDPW.
What to Recycle
Mixed newspaper, magazines, junk mail, officer paper,telephone books, cardboard boxes, corrugated boxes, and laundry detergent boxes must be recycled. This includes glass bottles, aluminum cans, metal cans, milk cartons, drink boxes, water containers, food containers, household cleaner containers, laundry detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, and other related plastic containers. These materials must be tied or placed in recycling containers and placed curbside the night of your scheduled collection day.
The program allows residents to dispose of these white goods and/or e-waste products either by arranging a pick-up over the phone or by bringing the waste to be recycled in person to the JCIA’s headquarters, located at 501 Rt. 440.
Those who wish to arrange a pick-up by phone should call the JCIA at 201-432-4645, ext. 600, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those who wish to deliver their waste in person to JCIA’s headquarters can do so Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents taking advantage of the program must provide proof of Jersey City residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.
Some examples of white goods that will be accepted as part of this program include refrigerators, air conditioners, stoves, microwaves, hot water heaters, washing machines and dryers. Examples of e-waste that will be accepted include computers and computer equipment, TVs, VCRs/DVD players, stereos, radios, copiers, fax machines and scanners, as well as phones.
Snow season begins November of the current year and continues until Mid March the following year. If we receive snow falls before or after the snow season, homeowners are asked to still abide by normal snow season parking guidelines.
During the snow season, the snow removal company will arrive within a one or two hour window after a snow storm or snow fall is done. We ask that homeowners be patient during this time frame to allow the snow removal company to arrive and remove snow. The snow removal company will come when we get three or more inches of snow.
Please do not approach crews or snow removal vehicles with any complaints or special request while snow is being removed.
Direct all complaints and any issues related to snow removal to the HOA board.
